HIC Grades (Hydrogen Induced Cracking resistance tested) of steel plate have unique properties.
ASME SA-516 Grade 60, modified to meet the chemical and physical requirements of Grades 55, 60, 65 and 70, is corrosion tough for high resistance to Hydrogen Sulphide sour gas service and notch toughness sensitivity.
All steel plates are normalized and produced to a fine grain practice with vacuum degassing and Calcium/Argon treatment during melting for Sulphide shape control, and are produced to stringent and exacting requirements.
